Funded by Thailand Rotary Action Group Against Slavery Team (TRAGAST) and coordinated in collaboration with The Children and Youth Council of Chiang Mai Province, the Stop Grooming Refreshing Workshop was organized by the Peace Culture Foundation. The goal of the workshop was to review knowledge about grooming and the 7-step grooming process, helping participants better understand related issues such as grooming prevention and sexual violence. The workshop also aimed to equip participants to design effective anti-grooming projects based on the principle: “Be Aware, Speak It Out, Spot the Signs.”

The workshop targeted children and youth from Chiang Mai, including 30 members of The Children and Youth Council of Chiang Mai Province. It was held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the Peace Culture Foundation, located in Ban Waen Subdistrict, Hang Dong District, Chiang Mai.

Throughout the event, the Peace Culture Foundation, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sombat Tapanya, Chair of the Foundation and a clinical psychologist, guided participants through various activities. The workshop opened with “Different Perspectives,” a session focused on exploring attitudes around sexuality and grooming, and understanding both victims and abusers. This was followed by “Jane’s Story,” which presented real-life scenarios related to grooming, sexual harassment, and the role of bystanders who ignore sexual violence and grooming. In the final activity, participants were invited to develop their own follow-up projects aimed at raising public awareness about grooming. Each group was encouraged to define their targets, timeline, action steps, and supportive sources.

Looking ahead, the Peace Culture Foundation will continue to follow up with participants to monitor project implementation and help further spread awareness about grooming in wider communities.
